Congratulations to Santa Cruz High School–winners of the 2022 High School Mock Trial competition. The final round was completed on February 24, 2022, with Judge Volkmann presiding. The awards ceremony took place after scores were tallied.
The runner-up team was Pacific Charter School. Both teams excelled, with only eight points separating the top teams.
A giant THANK YOU to the 47 scorers who volunteered to score this year. Several volunteers scored more than one round. The time you lend to this program is invaluable, and the program could not work without your contributions.
THANK YOU to all the student participants, the 10 judges and pro-tems who presided over Mock Trial rounds this year, and the efforts of all the attorney-coaches and teacher-coaches, who worked diligently to get the teams ready for competition. This volunteer-driven event would not be possible without your support.

CONGRATULATIONS to Judge Salazar, who was honored at the Mock Trial awards ceremony, for all his years of dedication to the Mock Trial program. Judge Salazar’s contributions to this program in the roles of coach, scorer, judge and trainer have set the standard for others to follow.
The County Office of Education and the Trial Lawyers Association look forward to your participation next year when, hopefully, we can resume in-person Mock Trials at the courthouse.
